WWE Hall Of Famer Jim Ross has posted on his personal website and great BBQ sauces. here are a few snippets:
-Current status on working with WWE and having new responsibilities: I think that way too much as been made of a question that I answered regarding what my perception was about returning to weekly TV. Firstly, it’s really nice that many fans enjoy my work and would like to hear me on a weekly basis. I’m sincerely flattered, without question.
Secondly, I do not perceive this development to likely not return to weekly TV broadcasting to be a negative one as a new schedule simply makes it easier on me travel wise and will hopefully help me keep lingering health issues in check. My goal is and has always been to help “the team” which means WWE as a whole. I’ve been fortunate to have had many years of positive experiences in several different, key areas where we have earned varying levels of success. I can still contribute in many of those areas or other platforms. Those plans are still being formulated but I am on board, in theory, and look forward to new responsibilities and challenges.
-Attending this years WreslteMania: I have every intention of being at WM26 and if that is to simply spend time with my wife and friends and enjoy the weekend as a fan then I’m perfectly fine with that. For a life long, wrestling aficionado to be able to enjoy an event of this magnitude highlighted by so many historically significant wrestling matches sounds like a great weekend to me.
However, and perhaps egocentrically, I will say that if called upon to broadcast a match or two I intend on kicking some commentating ass. I’m just saying.
-Jim Ross gives his “Dream Match”: When asked by a emailer what “Dream Match” I would love to see at Wrestlemania if I could pick any two guys to compete, the answer is almost impossible to provide. Each day I might have a different idea or mindset. Today my idea is a young, healthy Andre the Giant as the WWE Champion versus The Undertaker at Wrestlemania in a Title vs. The Streak confrontation of epic proportions. I might have 10 other ideas in an hour as things like this are like getting a song in one’s head and not being able to stop hearing it.
-The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports that actor and major baseball personality Bob Uecker is set to be inducted into this year’s WWE Hall of Fame class. For more information click here.
In 1987, Uecker appeared as a ringside announcer at WrestleMania III in Pontiac, Michigan, followed by a return the following year at WrestleMania IV as both a ringside announcer and backstage interviewer. One famous Wrestlemania segment saw André the Giant choking Uecker. Watch the video below.
-The Miami Herald has an featured story on Shawn Stasiak making an wrestling return at this link.
-WWE’s Decade Diva, Lilian Garcia has relaunched her website LilianGarcia.com. In an recent blog post she tell why she got done with WWE last year. She said after being on the road for 10 years, she wanted to get married and relax.
Leaving the WWE was one of the hardest decisions I had to make because I was I was very close to everyone there and loved my job, but after 10+ years of being on the road it was time to take a break. As many of you already know, I got married one week after my departure and can’t tell you what an amazing feeling it is when you find the right person. I went to Cabo for my honeymoon and then took some time off to be with my friends and family!
She also answers fan questions, one particular if she still talks to Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson?
yes we have! And we still talk about how much fun we had during our interviews. In fact, one of the funniest memories is the interview we did where the “Strudel” was born. It was soooo hard for me to keep my composure…not sure how I did it…LOL. Here’s the link if you want to see it again:
-In the latest edition of his Q and A at his www.JRsBarBQ.com website, Jim Ross was asked “what are the chances of you and the King ever being paired together again on Raw?” Here is his reply.
I don’t think that WWE is interested in putting me back on weekly TV and all the travel that comes along with it at this time. Would I love to work with King again? Certainly. Is this my call? Nope. Do I think that I will ever be paired with Lawler again on a regular basis? Highly unlikely.
