Official Statement of Randy Poffo Regarding the Passing of his Father, Angelo Poffo
I have always been so proud to call Angelo Poffo my father. He is a great example of a self-sacrificing, hard-working man who always put his family first. As a parent, he was tough, but always fair. He was a true leader, and I am honored to be his son.
My father has left this world, but he will never leave my heart. He has always been my hero and my mentor, and the priceless gifts he gave I will have and cherish forever.
My family and I would like to thank my dad’s fans for all the support and well wishes they have expressed this past week.

As many of you already know, I got married one week after my departure and can’t tell you what an amazing feeling it is when you find the right person. Interview highlights courtesy of The Mayhem’s official correspondent, Paterson From New Jersey:
How much of his second stint with World Wrestling Entertainment was a “life experience” after the first time being there: “It was definitely a life experience. It was just an ongoing nightmare for me. They promise they’re gonna do this with you, and they don’t do it. They tell me they are gonna bring me in to feud with Shelton (Benjamin), and they don’t do it. As out lives went on we had our first child & then our second child, you wanna quit, but you have to support your family. Then you’ll like ‘Alright if I gonna eat crap to help support my family and give my wife & kids a better life, better than I ever had, then that’s what I’ll do.’ But eventually, you could only handle so much before you gotta walk away because you bring that misery home, and it’s unhealthy. It’s a unhealthy work environment, but then when you bring it home, you make it a unhealthy home environment for your family, and you can’t do that. It just really feels good to be away from that. No one understands unless you’ve been there.”
Becoming a great fit within the confines of Ring Of Honor: “I agree with you 100%. I’ve been watching the product, I know Jim Cornette personally, and I just love what they’re doing down there. I’ve worked with Cornette; I like the formulation of what he’s done in the past in OVW and what he’s doing now. I think I’ll be a great fit. Those kids could go, and they wrestle. These men wrestle, and that’s what it’s about. I have so much left in my tank. My body’s healthy. I’m determined. I’m not gonna sit back and be upset & retire, I wanna go out and prove myself. I wanna prove myself to all the skeptics & all the creative that they didn’t know what they had.”
What is more appealing to Charlie when he makes his return to the ring on television: TNA or Ring Of Honor: “I will end up at one or the other I promise you that. I just wanna go out & wrestle. I wanna be given the opportunity I never had, and that’s it. I wanna have fun: that passion is back, and I feel like a weight has been lifted off my chest. The odds are good I will end up somewhere, and the whole new destiny for Charlie Haas will definitely take a turn, and it’ll be a turn for the best. Not just for the fans, but for me & my family as well.”
Some of the superstars/performers that Charlie would want to face in TNA that he never had the opportunity to face in his career: “There’s another Elijah Burke (’The Pope’ D’Angelo Dinero), never did anything with him. Look what’s happened. It’s the same thing; the WWE didn’t see anything in him or he’s not entertaining enough. It’s their loss, and that’s just one of them. Shannon Moore was another one who was never given the opportunity. Jeff Hardy is the most popular wrestler there is in the world today. Kurt (Angle) is one of my best friends, we talk all the time, and I would love to run with him or Jeff or any of those wrestlers: AJ (Styles), Samoa Joe.”
Charlie’s thoughts on the passing of his close friend & business partner Eddie “Umaga” Fatu several few months ago: “He was my best friend and was my best friend since we started in the developmental territories together. He was with me when we found my brother dead. He was my best friend & my business partner, and his family is my family. It’s just heartbreaking just to watch him and watch what happened, and to have to bury another one of your friends just really sucks.”
Why Shelton Benjamin, like himself, has not been used to the best of his ability during his time in the WWE: “It’s either someone doesn’t like him in creative or he’s just too good of a wrestler, or he just makes things look too good & too easy, or it’s just very political. Someone at the time doesn’t want him to succeed. They have who they want to push, and he’s just not one of them. And it’s unfortunate, because he is probably the most God-gifted athlete in sports (pro wrestling & the WWE), but they don’t want to utilize that, so it’s their loss. That’s why I’m begging him not to sign back. He’ll probably stay for the money, but he could utilized a lot better elsewhere I’ll tell you that.”
More is contained in Charlie’s interview with the Monday Night Mayhem Radio Network, including his candid thoughts & comments on the real story behind his impersonations of past & present WWE Superstars, Legends, & Divas (including whose idea it was for the gimmick & which member of the WWE Creative Team that Charlie confided in the most during his return to the company), why the WWE almost pulled Shelton Benjamin from the forthcoming Money In The Bank Match at WrestleMania

Angus “Sandy” Scott passed away this morning following a lengthy battle with pancreatic cancer. He was 75 and his family had just moved him to a nursing home earlier this week.
Scott broke into the business in 1954, when older brother George brought him into the Calgary territory to work for Stu Hart. From the 1950s until the 1970s, Scott and George competed as The Flying Scotts tag team and as singles wrestlers in regional promotions across the country including the National Wrestling Alliance, particularly the Midwest and Mid-Atlantic territories, as well as successful stints in the American Wrestling Association, Maple Leaf Wrestling and Stampede Wrestling.
In the 1980s, Scott became a key front office executive for Jim Crockett Promotions, booking towns and venues, and for the most part keeping a lucrative business thriving during it’s glory years. As well as influence and responsibility behind the scenes, Scott was also a prominent on air personality, and was involved in some of the biggest Crockett angles of the 1980s.
He also worked for World Championship Wrestling when Ted Turner’s company took over JCP, and was one of the driving forces behind Jim Cornette’s Smoky Mountain Wrestling during the early 1990s.
Scott was inducted into the Mid-Atlantic Wrestling Hall of Heroes in 2008.
He is survived by his brother George, and his wife Sandra, daughter Tracy and grandson Coleton.

The lasting legacy of WrestleMania to her/challenging Victoria for the WWE Women’s Championship at WrestleMania XX in New York City in one of ‘Manias most memorable matches/storylines (”Hair vs. Title”): “For me, WrestleMania XX was definitely the highlight of my career. I mean once you have your head shaved at Madison Square Garden, where do you go from there? So for me, that was definitely the peak of my career.”
The rumors of the forthcoming WWE Divas DVD release (and her potential involvement in the project): “I don’t know. They (the WWE) own the rights to my name and likeness, so whatever they wanted to do with my footage and stuff, they could do. My guess is in Trish’s (Stratus) segment, I will be the one getting pantsed a lot, so I’m sure I’ll be on there.”
Addressing comments in Jim Ross’ recent blog about the current state of women’s wrestling today. What is lacking in women’s wrestling that has prevented it from becoming legitimate, and will we ever see a women’s match headline a Pay-Per-View?: “I remember there was some mixed tags as a main event with Lita and Trish, and it was fantastic those girls got to be in the main event in a mixed tag. As far as them headlining a show, personally I have never met a girl as talented, charismatic, and athletic as people like The Rock, Triple H, or ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin. I’ve seen a lot of talented girl wrestlers, but none that had as much talent as the men in my opinion.”
How viable can Wrestlicious be in the world of professional wrestling: “The reason I think it (Wrestlicious) might work is there is so much serious drama on TV, and to have something totally ridiculous just might be a change of pace for people to escape their realities. It would great if it succeeded, and it could be one of those things like G.L.O.W., where there was just this sub-culture that was so drawn to it and was this thing that people talked about for years to come.”
If the time will come for “Molly Holly” to be inducted into the WWE Hall Of Fame: “I could not shine the shoes of those ladies in the Hall Of Fame now (The Fabulous Moolah, Mae Young, “Sensational” Sherri Martel, along with Wendi Richter). I don’t ever see myself being in the Hall Of Fame. Although I had a great career, I’m nowhere as talented and amazing as those ladies. I totally respect them, and I’m sure Trish, Lita, Chyna, and other girls did way more for the business than I did will hopefully be in the Hall Of Fame.”
Her thoughts on the return of the “Monday Night Wars” between the WWE and TNA: “I think that’s exciting as far as wouldn’t it be great if we could regenerate those ‘Monday Night Wars?’ I was in WCW when those wars first started, and I remember sitting in Eric Bischoff’s office watching Y2J (Chris Jericho) debut on RAW, and it was fun. So I think hopefully it’ll generate some interest. I think it’s gonna be a good thing for everybody, and I’m excited to see what happens.”
More is contained in this exclusive interview with the former Molly Holly, including Nora’s memories of working with “The Nature Boy” Ric Flair (and being a part of WrestleMania XXIV weekend, which saw Flair being inducted into the WWE Hall Of Fame and his final singles match against “The Heartbreak Kid” Shawn Michaels), her thoughts on Gregory “Hurricane Helms” being released by the WWE (and having the chance to team up with him as part of their respective superhero personas), if Victoria’s success in Tara in TNA after departing the WWE has surprised her in any way, along with the charity work she has been actively working on since leaving the business full-time.
