Posted on August 31st, 2009 at 10:52 pm by Wrestling News

tna-impactlogo

TNA Wrestling taped this week’s edition of Impact and half ot he following week’s episode tonight from Universal Studios in Orlando, Florida. The order in which this will air is subject to change. Below are full results from the taping. Thanks to WrestlingNewsWorld.com Orlando correspondent Tim Capture for sending us text-message updates tonight.

Mike Tenay, Taz and SoCal Val are out to ringside first.

TNA Impact:

* Sting b. Rhino in a TNA Championship qualifying match. The other winners will face off in the main event at No Surrender. After the match Rhino hit Gore on Sting, beat him down and hit his finisher again. The referees came out to break up the melee as Rhino gets heat from the crowd.

* The No Surrender main event currently stands at TNA Champion Kurt Angle vs. Sting vs. the two other qualifiers.

* Doug Williams b. Suicide in a TNA Championship qualifying match. Suicide was going for a top rope move but The Pope came out so Suicide dove to the outside onto him. He came back in only for Williams to hit Chaos Theory for the win.

* AJ Styles b. Chris Sabin w/Alex Shelley in a TNA Championship qualifying match.

* Hernandez b. Homicide in a TNA Championship qualifying match after hitting the Terminator (Ron Simmons’ old finisher when he worked as Farooq which is basically a side powerbomb off his shoulder). They shook hands after the match.

* Daniels comes out and cuts an in-ring promo. He is announced as the number one contender for the TNA X Division Championship. He calls out Samoa Joe so he can say something to his face. Daniels says he never thought they would face off again under these circumstances. He says there was a time the X Division Championship was the most talked about thing in TNA. He says it used to be just him, Joe and AJ Styles traveling and becoming family. He said they were just trying to make a name for themselves and mentions the 2005 Unbreakable pay-per-view. The event was headlined by Samoa Joe vs. AJ Styles vs. Daniels showing that TNA was the future, Daniels proclaimed. Samoa Joe says he doesn’t care because he has things to do. Daniels says like what, hanging out with the Main Event Mafia? Daniels says they’re scared of him and that’s why Joe is with them. Daniels says Joe lost his integrity and wants to know why he threw away his friends, pride and principles. Daniels says no one knows him anymore, not even his wife and son. Joe snaps, knocks out Daniels and leaves the ringside area.

* It’s announced Sting has cracked ribs and is told not to wrestle. Sting says he’ll still compete.

* Christy Hemme & Tara b. Hamada & Sojo Bolt after a Widow’s Peak on Sojo Bolt. After the match Hamada gave Sojo a cradle Falcon’s Arrow.

* Consequences Creed b. Shark Boy

* Kurt Angle joins Mike Tenay on Taz for the next match which is Doug Williams vs. AJ Styles in a TNA Championship qualifying match.

* AJ Styles b. Doug Williams in a TNA Championship qualifying match.

* Jeremy Borash interviews AJ Styles after the match. AJ says he’s on top of the hill and will climb the mountain.

* Dr. Stevie vs. Abyss in announced for later tonight.

* Sting b. Hernandez via disqualification as Eric Young came out dressed as Homicide and attacked Sting.

* Hernandez gets on the mic and calls out Young. Young comes out in new gear while the British Invasion, Kiyoshi and Sheik Abdul Bashir sneak attack Hernandez. AJ Styles comes out the make the save but is beat up as well. Beer Money, Inc. comes out and cleans house to put the babyfaces in control. Team 3D comes out to join the babyfaces. 3D were going to put Bashir through a table but Scott Steiner and Booker T ran out and beat up 3D. The heels are now in control. Steiner and Booker put James Storm through a table as the Main Event Mafia music hits and the heels celebrate in the ring.

* Sarita & Taylor Wilde b. Daffney & Alissa Flash after Sarita hit a belly-to-belly suplex on Flash. The Motor City Machineguns are out with a box of tissues and join commentary. They have their own commentary table.

* The Pope D’Angelo Dinero b. Jay Lethal with running knees into the corner.

* The Pope cuts a preacher-like promo about enlightenment and how he’s The Pope and he’s going to baptize Lethal. Consequences Creed comes out and makes the save but Pop attacks Creed when his back in turned and leaves.

* The Beautiful People b. Madison Rayne & her mystery partner Roxxi when Angelina school-girled Madison and held the tights.

* World Elite comes out for a promo. They want Hernandez to join them and become part of the family. They call Hernandez out but they get Hector Guerrero instead. Hector says World Elite pisses Hernandez off and Eric is the problem. Eric says America is the problem and Hector should know that since he’s not American. Young told Hector to tell Hernandez to pay attention because he’ll give him a reason to come out and join.

* Mick Foley comes out to join Mike Tenay and Taz on commentary for Abyss vs. Dr. Stevie. Stevie attacked Abyss before he made it down the ramp.

* Abyss b. Dr. Stevie after a Black Hole Slam. Kevin Nash comes out without Abyss realizing and starts beating him down. Foley comes in for the save and tosses Stevie out to end the show.

Official Raw Results (8/31/09)
Posted on August 31st, 2009 at 10:48 pm by Wrestling News

Raw 8-31-09

DETROIT – Always a welcome sight to the WWE Universe, special guest host and WWE Hall of Famer Dusty Rhodes, made his stint on Raw a memorable one with three title matches as well as a contest he made famous: A Bull Rope Match. However, while “The American Dream” may have started out being cheered by the fans in attendance, they quickly turned on the WWE Legend when he joined The Legacy in a brutal attack on both John Cena and D-Generation X. But in a bit of poetic justice, the tables were turned once again, as Rhodes fell victim to a brutal RKO, courtesy of WWE Champion Randy Orton.

-Raw’s special guest host, WWE Hall of Famer Dusty Rhodes, announced a WWE Title Match between champion Randy Orton and “The American Dream’s” son, Cody Rhodes

-Beth Phoenix def. Kelly Kelly, Gail Kim, Rosa Mendes, Jillian and Alicia Fox in an “American Dream” Six-Diva Battle Royal, earning a Divas Title match

-Unified WWE Tag Team Champion Chris Jericho def. MVP

-Hornswoggle def. Chavo Guerrero in a Bull Rope Match

-Mark Henry def. Unified WWE Tag Team Champion Big Show by disqualification

-United States Champion Kofi Kingston def. The Miz, Jack Swagger and Carlito

-Divas Champion Mickie James def. Beth Phoenix

-D-Generation X watched “The Rise & Fall of WCW” with Dusty Rhodes, but were interrupted by a new Shockmaster

-WWE Champion Randy Orton vs. Cody Rhodes ended in a no contest when The Legacy attacked guest referee John Cena, drawing out D-Generation X

TNA Talent on MTV’s “Made”, Update TNA Tour in Australia, TNA To Change PPV Format
Posted on August 31st, 2009 at 6:49 pm by Wrestling News

-TNA stars AJ Styles, The Beautiful People (Angelina Love & Velvet Sky) and Taylor Wilde will all be appearing on MTV’s “MADE” this Sunday mentoring a teenage girl who has aspirations to become a pro wrestler.

-Christy Hemme will join Jeremy Borash and Jeff Jarrett on a promotional tour of Australia this week.

Jarrett will be appearing on the Rove McManus talk show this Sunday in Australia. They have history dating back several years to when McManus appeared on a World Wrestling All-Stars PPV event.

-TNA President Dixie Carter was a guest on the Live Audio Wrestling Internet radio show on Sunday night. Host John Pollock discussed TNA’s current PPV formula of one event per month, Carter says she is not a fan of the monthly PPV format and she would like to see the formula shaken up.

“I’m not a big fan of monthly PPVs, quite honestly, but you have contracts that keep you held in and bound at times,” Carter said. “We’re definitely talking about trying to shake things up and do things differently in the future.”

Despite the fact that TNA is a privately held company and their actual PPV buyrate figures are never officially released, the data that does get out indicates that TNA has never come close to breaking 100,000 buys for an event and change is needed.

Carter repeated her recent claims that changes are coming to TNA and that she would be addressing many of the elements of the product that have become stagnant or too formula.

“I work very, very closely [with the creative team]. I’m not going to profess to be a wrestling writer. I am good at challenging people. It’s not just ratings, but other things as well,” Carter said. “We’ve made a lot of changes internally to present the product more real and focusing on these young guys.”

Lawler Debate, Arizona Readies WM XXVI, Error in Mysterio’s Susupension
Posted on August 31st, 2009 at 6:14 pm by Wrestling News

-Memphis, Tenn.’s CommercialAppeal.com features a reader poll about Thursday night’s Memphis mayoral debate between candidates including WWE Hall of Famer Jerry “The King” Lawler and several of his opponents. To see the poll, click here.

-Arizona is preparing for WrestleMania XXVI to hit the Phoenix area on March 28, 2010. AZCentral.com highlights some of the weeklong WWE events, including WrestleMania Axxess, the pro-am golf tournament, the WWE Hall of Fame ceremony and the WrestleMania Reading Challenge finals, plus a link to purchase WrestleMania XXVI tickets starting Nov. 7. The full article can be read here.

Rey-Mysterio-rey-mysterio-During the interview with The Record, there seems to be an discrepancy with Mysterio’s interview and the WWE Wellness policy. Mysterio stated that he was notified Wednesday of the positive drug test and that WWE Wrestling gave his until Thursday to show proof of where it was prescribed by an doctor.

Well it stats in the WWE Wrestling wellness policy, as it reads : “It shall be the responsibility of WWE Wrestling Talent to provide, if not already provided, to the Medical Director, within seventy two (72) hours of notification of a positive test, suitable proof that the substance in question has been taken pursuant to a valid prescription for a legitimate medical purpose.”

If this is the case, Mysterio has until Saturday (72 hours) to show proof of his current medication that has resulted him in an failed drug test. Mysterio just just notified the last Wednesday of the failed drug test, meanwhile he was absent for three weeks for promoting Summerslam in Hawaii and later on vacation. It remains unclear if WWE has tried to get ahold of Mysterio in the meantime while he was gone from the company.

Meanwhile in the interview Mysterio states he has passed 15 prior drug test in the past.
